Deerfield Beach Arboretum
If you want to get outside, definitely go to the 9-acre Deerfield Beach Arboretum. You will be able to see 200 species of palms and trees from around the world, plus a butterfly garden, and a wetlands demonstration area. Tours are conducted every Friday at 10am and there is a free horticultural presentation monthly. Also enjoy a paved walking trail and a children’s playground. Deerfield Island Park
This park is located on an island in the Intercoastal Waterway. It is only accessible by boat. A free shuttle boat runs every hour.
Quiet Waters Park
In spite of its tranquil name, Quiet Waters is known for its Renaissance Festival. It also has a popular water-skiing system that works on cables. Another unusual attraction at Quiet Waters is a feature called Rent-a-Tent and Tepees, if you’d really like to get back to nature sleeping in a tepee.
The park also features a dog park, a marina with boats for rent, bike trails and playgrounds, lakes to fish in, and basketball courts.
